Pune Records Warmest Start to February in Over a Decade
Report by The Newsage Pune.

Warmest start to February recorded by the IMD in Pune

Shivajinagar recorded an average maximum temperature of 34.09°C between February 1 and 9, making it the hottest start to February since at least 2014, according to IMD data. This trend aligns with a broader pattern of rising temperatures across Bharat, with January seeing above-normal night temperatures and milder winter conditions.

In Mumbai, Santacruz registered an average maximum temperature of 33.2°C in January 2025, surpassing the previous record of 32.9°C set in 2009, making it the city's hottest January in recorded history.

This year, Pune experienced the warmest start to February since at least 2014, as per IMD data. January was also hotter than usual standards. February is expected to get hotter by the day, alongside the rising concerns about air pollution. Patients are advised to take note of the same and emphasize on self-care.

Looking ahead, Pune is expected to experience above-normal temperatures throughout February. On February 11, IMD forecasts a minimum temperature of 21.24°C and a maximum of 33.92°C, with humidity at 22%.

Air quality remains a concern, with Pune’s AQI at 203, indicating poor air quality. Residents, particularly children and those with respiratory issues, are advised to limit outdoor exposure.

The seven-day forecast suggests clear skies with daily highs gradually rising, peaking at 32.39°C by February 17. Stay updated with IMD for weather alerts and air quality updates.
