Rising cyber crime cases in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai and Pune cause panic amongst government officials about the safety of online users. A whopping sum of 8,947 cases has been reported only as of last year. Pune is leading the march, followed by Mumbai. Authorities assure that the Maharashtra Cyber Security Project is underway and will soon be operational.
