Maharashtra has noticed a rise in the number of death cases caused by road accidents, from 2023 to recent times. 42 fatalities are reported daily, adding up to 15,000 deaths per year. Number of accidents on Mumbai-Pune Expressway also seem to have significantly increased. Dhule district in Maharashtra ranks number one amongst the districts witnessing the largest number of accidents.
