BJP MLA of Bhosari Supports PCMC with Demolition of Illegal Encroachments
BJP'S Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge has supported Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's (PCMC) anti-encroachment drive in Kudalwadi-Chikhali, which led to the demolition of 4,111 illegal structures in seven days.
Mahesh Landge seconded the idea the demolition of unauthorized encroachments by the PCMC. Landge is known for being aware of real-time situations such as, the migration of illegal Bangladeshis and the severe pollution of the Indrayani River. However, he desires to help the small- scale industrialists and owners of the encroachments.
Landge, who first flagged concerns over illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the area, cited pollution in Indrayani River and security risks as key reasons for the crackdown. However, he expressed concern over losses faced by small-scale industrialists and promised to raise the issue in the state budget session.
The PCMC, denying political pressure, stated that the action was based on Bombay High Court ruling. The demolitions have reportedly resulted in a ₹7,600 crores loss and 2.5 lakh job losses.
