PCMC Unveils ₹9,675 Cr Budget for 2025-26, Prioritizes Roads, Water and Green Initiatives

PCMC Emphasizes Improvement of Infrastructure and Introduction of Green Initiatives with No Hike in Property Tax
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed a ₹9,675.27 crore budget for the 2025-26 financial year, with no hike in property tax. Commissioner Shekhar Singh outlined major plans, including road development, water supply improvements and environmental projects.
Major infrastructure developments such as road development, water supply improvements and environmental projects are underway as assured by Commissioner Shekhar Singh. A large amount has been allocated for various projects spread out in several areas of Pune. This budget was proposed by PCMC, with no additional property tax.
₹900 crore allocated for 48.94 km of DP roads in Wakad, Ravet, Punawale, and Kiwale, along with ₹122 crore for 11.3km of missing road links. 25 junctions to be improved; ₹262 crore proposed for land acquisition for an 8-lane elevated corridor via Chakan. ₹1,960 crore earmarked for infrastructure, including the Bhama Ashked jack well project (completion by October 2025) and a water pipeline from Andra dam.
PCMC raised ₹200 crore for non-motorized transport projects like cycling paths and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and general green initiatives. ₹112 crore for Indrayani River rejuvenation ₹56 crore for new fire department vehicles. Expansion of health and wellness centers at 70 locations. CCTV surveillance in PCMC-run schools and new English-medium schools in Kasarwadi and Bhosari. Financial support for children of waste pickers and a one-stop center for senior citizens.
