PMC's Budget to be Dedicated Towards Smart City Plans
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has unveiled its ₹12,618.09 crore budget for 2025-26, focusing on infrastructure, civic services, and urban development, and overall smart city plans.
Major revenue resources include property tax (₹2,847.23 crore), GST (₹2,701.77 crore), development charges (₹2,899.99 crore), and government grants (₹1,633.44 crore), along with ₹300 crore from loans.
PMC's budget for 2025-26 has been decided at ₹12,618.09 crore which will later be allocated to different aspects of various scheme implementations. This figure has been circled down after taking into consideration major revenue resources as well as expenditures. PMC has been acknowledged for working towards bettering civic infrastructure while also operating with limited resources.
On the expenditure side, key allocations include ₹3,642 crore for employee salaries, ₹5,233.30 crore for capital development projects, ₹2,345.15 crore for maintenance and repairs, and ₹291.50 crore for the AMRUT and Smart City Mission. The budget reflects PMC's commitment to improving civic infrastructure while maintaining financial stability.
