PMRDA has approved a ₹827 crore budget in order to provide commuters with newer road facilities in order to relieve traffic congestion. Heavy traffic in Pune has resulted in loss of connectivity between areas. Hence, a land acquisition proposal was submitted to the Pune District Collector to enhance connectivity between Shirur, Khed, Maval and Mulshi talukas.
The project includes missing links in Shirur, Khed, Maval, and Mulshi talukas, enhancing connectivity between major highways and industrial areas. Notable routes include the Sanaswadi-Pimple Jagtap Road, Chakan MIDC bypass, and a road passing through Mhalung near Balewadi Stadium.
Additionally, proposed links from Mukai Chowk (Kiwale) to Chandkhed and Chikhali to Kharabwadi could further improve connectivity. These missing links aim to strenghten the Ease of Living and Business, providing smoother traffic flow across the region.
