PMRDA Holds Key Meeting to Tackle Hinjawadi Traffic Before Monsoons, Expedite Metro and Road Projects
Report by The Newsage Pune.

Rising Hinjawadi Traffic and Bottleneck Issues Discussed During Review Meeting

Efforts to ease traffic and boost infrastructure in the Hinjawadi industrial zone are gaining pace, with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) reaffirming its commitment to major upgrades.

The metro line 3 is almost in its concluding stage, and other road developments and infrastructural plans should align with the progress. In a recent meeting held with PMRDA, MIDC AND HIA as its members, key issues regarding the traffic of the city were discussed and prior precautions have been decided upon for the upcoming monsoon season.

During a recent review meeting, Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase confirmed that Metro Line 3 is nearing completion, while new roadworks and development plans are also being pushed forward. The meeting included officials from PMRDA, MIDC, the Hinjawadi Industrial Association (HIA), and IT companies. Key issues discussed were traffic bottlenecks, inadequate public transport, parking challenges, and rising encroachments.

IT firms urged immediate action on traffic congestion and stressed the need for parallel infrastructure upgrades. Dr Mhase assured that steps would be taken to address these concerns, particularly ahead of the monsoon. Metro Line 3 construction is in its final stages, and new road projects to improve industrial connectivity are in the pipeline. Officials have also been directed to prepare for seasonal challenges.
