Chief Minister of Maharashtra Urges Commuters to Avoid Traffic Rule Violations, while Pune Police Crackdown
Pune city police conducted a large-scale crackdown and nakabandi operation on Saturday, inspecting 2,853 vehicles across 78 key locations. The drive, aimed at enforcing traffic rules, led to action against 514 violators and the collection of ₹7.46 lakh in fines.
A nakabandi operation was carried out in the key areas of Pune to enforce regulatory rules and spread awareness about the mishaps caused due to non-adherence. A large sum of fine was collected as well as 72 vehicles were seized as a result of various violations.
Major offences included wrong-side driving, triple-seat riding, and failure to wear seat belts. Additionally, 72 vehicles were seized for serious violations. The operation was carried out across major roads, intersections and traffic hotspots under all police station jurisdictions.
Officials have confirmed that similar operations will continue to enhance road safety and ensure stricter compliance with traffic laws. Pune police urge motorists to follow rules to avoid penalties, and more importantly, prevent accidents.
