The Number of Fitment Centers of HSRP to be Increased from an Inadequate Figure of 125 by Pune RTO
To streamline the installation of High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP), the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has directed Rosemarta Company to increase the number of fitment centers in the city.
Due to the surge of vehicle owners wishing to possess the new HSRP number plates, there is a shortage of fitment centers in the city. The RTO has aimed to make arrangements for the same. Authorities are working relentlessly to improve accessibility for residents of Pune before the deadline nears.
This move aims to help vehicle owners residing in Pune but registered in other districts. Additionally, vehicle owners registering more than 25 vehicles at a single location, such as corporate fleets or housing societies, will be exempt from home delivery charges for HSRP installation. With Pune witnessing 5,000-6,000 new registrations daily, the current 125 fitment centers are struggling to meet demand.
The RTO has emphasized the need to prevent sudden closure of centers, ensuring smoother operations. Vehicle owners from other districts can now choose Pune-based centers for installation. With an April 30 2025, deadline in place, authorities are working to prevent delays and improve accessibility for all vehicle owners.
