PMC to Lay the Final Layer of the New Road at Pune's Riverside
The newly paved road between Rajput Settlement and Bhide Bridge along the Mutha riverbank has become difficult for commuters due to its uneven surface. Some parts of the road are higher, while others are lower, making it bumpy and unsafe for vehicles.
The route between the Rajput Settlement and Bhide Bridge was recently dug up to build a more permanent one. However, the work has been left undone, causing potential risks to commuters since the road has not been covered with its final layer. PMC confirms that the final layer is yet to be laid.
Despite a ₹1.25 crore budget sanctioned in December 2024, the work remains incomplete. The road at Pune's riverside has been layered with tar, but loose gravel and rough patches make it difficult for two-wheelers to ride smoothly. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has stated the final layer of the road is yet to be completed.
However, citizens have raised concerns over the quality of work and potential risks of accidents. They demand immediate improvements before the road becomes more hazardous for daily commuters.
