Dudi Urges Framers Not to Involve Middlemen in the Creation of Purandar Airport
Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has announced that the land acquisition process for the long-delayed Purandar International Airport project will be completed within six months.
The most awaited Purandar International Airport project is set to be completed within the next six months. The Pune district collector claims that all farmers whose lands have been taken under the project, will be compensated according to the size of the same. The amendments of the amenities on the plots will be handled as well.
The project will require around 2,700 hectares of land from villages including Vanpuri, Ekhatpur, Udachiwadi, Kumbharvalan, Munjwadi, Khanwadi, and Pargaon in Purandar taluka. Dudi assured that farmers will be compensated as per the Land Acquisition Act and emphasized that payments for trees, wells, houses, and farmland on the acquired plots will be handled separately. He also urged farmers to avoid dealing with middlemen and not to sell their land prematurely.
The administration is working to resolve concerns among villagers and farmers through proper communication and legal assurances. Meanwhile, the Pune ring road project is progressing, with 90% of the required land already acquired. The remaining adjustments are minor and won’t affect the ongoing construction. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) aims to complete the ring road within the next two and a half years.
