Inauguration of Sinhagad Road Flyover- Intended to Reduce Traffic Congestion, Delayed
The much-awaited Sinhagad Road flyover, connecting Rajaram Bridge to Funtime Theater, is set to open in a month. While construction is 90% complete, minor works like painting and signage installation are still pending, delaying its inauguration.
The completion of the Sinhagad Road flyover is nearing completion as minor works remain to be completed. However, reports suggest that this delay is totally intentional with ulterior political motives in favor of Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis. The completion is anticipated eagerly as it promises to ease traffic congestion on major routes significantly.
The ₹118 crore project, which began in September 2021, aims to ease traffic congestion on Sinhagad Road. Once operational, commuters heading towards Dhayari, Nanded and Khadakwasla will bypass key traffic signals, reducing travel time.
However, reports suggest the delay is political, with speculation that the inauguration is being postponed for Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ahead of upcoming municipal elections. Meanwhile, the Manikbag to Hingne flyover stretch is expected to be completed by May-end, according to PMC's Chief Engineer Yuvraj Deshmukh.
