Action Taken Against Builders by PCMC for Environmental Violations
Due to advancement of technology, rapid industrialization and urbanization have taken place. This phenomenon has resulted in depletion of the quality of environmental elements. The quality of air and water has been compromised over the past few years, due to unethical construction practices. The health of water and air have been completely neglected while building of infrastructure. This has resulted into the sudden rise in the rate of water and air pollution.

As a result of this setback, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has expressed their regret towards the situation by issuing notices to 221 builders for violating environmental regulations. Hence, action taken against builders by PCMC.
As a result of this setback, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has expressed their regret towards the situation by issuing notices to 221 builders for violating environmental regulations. As of yet, an amount of Rupees 31.48 lakhs has been collected in the form of fine. Builders have been warned against violation of rules, as a result of which, their activities will be suspended until further notice. PCMC has enforced eco-friendly guidelines to improve air and water quality. This has been done in an attempt to improve public health and monitor industrial and construction pollution.
A team consisting of 32 members have been appointed to supervise and regulate the system across eight wards. Municipal Commissioner, Shekhar Singh has formulated strict rules that are compulsorily to be followed by builders. Non-compliance of the same will lead to project suspension by the authorities. PCMC has ensured to implement environmental laws to protect residents from hazardous pollution levels.
