Maharashtra Takes the Worst Heat this Summer at 42°C, Chandrapur Being the Warmest
Maharashtra is reeling under a severe heatwave, with Pune surpassing 40°C and Vidarbha emerging as the worst-hit region.
On Saturday, Chandrapur recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42°C, followed by Akola at 41.3°C, Wardha at 41°C, Brahmapuri at 40.8°C, Amravati at 40.4°C, Nagpur at 40.2°C and Solapur at 40.3°C.
Maharashtra has emerged to be the hottest state in the country this summer season. With Vidarbha leading the way for others, many areas in Maharashtra like Chandrapur, Akola and Wardha do not intend to fall back in the race. Experts have strictly warned residents to step out only if absolutely necessary, and to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated.
Wardha's temperature was 6°C above normal, while Chandrapur was 5°C above normal, signaling an alarming rise. Experts urge residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses as extreme temperatures persist.
