PCMC Warns Property Owners to Comply with Tax Payment Norms, Enlists Property Tax Defaulters
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken strict action against property tax defaulters by disconnecting 1,020 water connections across residential and commercial properties.
With the financial year closing on March 31, the civic body has intensified efforts to recover pending dues. So far, 1,069 properties have faced action, while 434 properties are set to be auctioned. Despite reported notices, several property owners have not cleared their dues, prompting authorities to initiate water disconnections and property seizures.
PCMC has heavily weighed down upon tax defaulters, by cutting off their water supply. As of yet, 1,069 have faced action and 434 properties are set to be auctioned off. To help taxpayers go through the payment process swiftly, cash counters will work over-time to facilitate quick movement of funds. Strict action will continue to take place.
To assist taxpayers, 18 divisional tax collection offices and cash counters will remain open until midnight to facilitate last-minute payments. Officials emphasize that property owners must clear their dues immediately to avoid further action, including permanent disconnection or seizure of assets. Strict enforcement will continue until outstanding taxes are recovered.
