Residents Advised to Use Water Effectively to Avoid Potential Water Crisis

Rising temperatures have led to increased water demand, causing low-pressure supply and disruptions across Pune. Residents in areas like Erandwande, Shivajinagar, Kharadi, and Model Colony are facing severe shortages, with some forced to rely on tankers.

Due to the intense heat and rising temperatures, areas in Pune are already facing severe water shortages, and disruptions in regular water supply. PMC Water Supply Department has been receiving continuous complaints regarding the erratic flow of water, inconsistent supply, and other issues regarding water provision. An extra 2 MLS of water is assured on behalf of the officials, yet the supply is expected to be fairly inconsistent. Residents are advised to use water diligently as June is predicted to experience water crisis.

Residents and local leaders protest against the decision! Complaints of burst pipes, erratic supply, and delays have put pressure on the PMC Water Supply Department. Officials assure that an additional 2 MLD water will be provided, but inconsistent supply continues.

If the situation persists, Pune may face a severe water crisis by June! Residents are urged to use water conservatively.
