Report by The Newsage Pune.

Meteorological Department Claims the Hottest City in Maharashtra- Pune

Punekars are feeling the heat-literally! Once known for its cool weather, Pune has now recorded the highest temperature in Maharashtra, with Koregaon Park hitting a scorching 39.6°C. Daytime heat intensifies: Maximum temperatures have crossed 39°C, with Shirur at 39.4°C and Shivajinagar at 36.9°C.

Pune, once almost a hill station for the residents of Maharashtra, turns out to be the hottest city in the state. The nights have also turned warm with Vadgaonsheri topping the list. Forecasts suggest that days are only going to get hotter, and a heatwave alert has been issued warning the residents to take necessary precautions.

Hot even at night: Minimum temperatures remain high with Vadgaonsheri at 23.2°C and Koregaon Park at 21.2°C, making nights uncomfortable. More heat ahead: The Meteorological Department warns that temperatures may rise further in the coming days.

A heatwave alert has been issued for Akola, and Punekars are advised to take precautions-stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure, and plan outdoor activities wisely.
