Unannounced Water Cuts in Pune Leave Citizens Struggling
Report by The Newsage Pune.

Drop in Water Pressure and Unannounced Water Cut Reported in Pune

Several areas in Pune, including Vadgaon Sheri, Erandwane, Gokhalenagar, and Model Colony, are experiencing unannounced water shortages, causing significant inconvenience to residents.

Unannounced water cuts in many areas of Pune cause major inconvenience to residents. Reduced pressure as well as no water supply have been reported. BJP spokesperson has intervened to conclude a quick solution to this problem to avoid the same in the upcoming intense summer months.

While the canal committee assured that water supply reductions would not be implemented, reports suggest a drop in water pressure, preventing tanks from filling properly. BJP spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar has lodged a complaint with Municipal Commissioner Dr.Rajesh Bhosle, demanding an immediate resolution.

Officials cite reduced water supply from Parvati Water Center-from 4,100 cubic meters per hour to 3,800 to cubic meters-as the cause. PMAY housing societies in Vadgaon Khurd have also faced severe shortages, with limited supply to 1,100 flats. In Gokhalenagar and nearby areas, residents must stay awake late at night to fill tanks due to erratic water flow. Citizens demand urgent intervention as the crisis worsens ahead of peak summer months.
